About the Death and Dying Fellowship

Now in its 10th year, the JHF Death and Dying Fellowship continues to address a key challenge: the reality that professionals are ill-prepared to communicate about death, dying, and grief with patients and families. We can, and must, do better.

What You'll Learn

Through a combination of nine virtual and in-person sessions/site visits in the Pittsburgh area, you’ll learn, confront, and discuss the legal, medical, social, cultural, familial, and spiritual aspects of death and dying as part of a multidisciplinary group in a low-pressure environment. You’ll hear from experts in a range of end-of-life disciplines, visit local resource providers, and practice serious illness conversation skills.

Who Should Apply

Current or recent graduate students in the Western Pennsylvania region from such disciplines as Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Pathology, Dentistry, Rehabilitation, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Ethics, Health Policy, Public Health, Pastoral Care, Law, and Business.
