ABOUT THE PATIENT SAFETY FELLOWSHIP
Fellows from interdisciplinary backgrounds and academic institutions will work together to discover how technological innovations can transform health care and prevent harm before it occurs. The fellowship offers an opportunity to learn from experts in the fields of health care, AI, manufacturing, tech and more. Fellows will form teams tasked with analyzing a specific care setting and proposing an application of AI to improve the safety of patients and workers. Each team will be matched with a mentor from a safety-conscious industry to help infuse their safety and innovation ideas into health care. One team will be given the opportunity to travel to San Diego to share their insights at an AI and patient safety conference in November 2024.
As a Fellow you will:
- Gain an understanding of the evolution of safety and how existing technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) can drive significant improvements to patient safety and healthcare outcomes.
- Participate in creative learning experiences that bridge the gap between AI, safety science, and health care.
- Develop skills and expertise on how to incorporate AI and technology into safety solutions.
- In-person networking opportunities with like-minded individuals committed to driving positive change in health care.
- Strengthen your resume with a Fellowship certificate highlighting your new skills in quality improvement and safety.
